Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police have completed the investigation into the Sandhya 70mm Theatre stampede case and filed a detailed chargesheet before the court on December 24, 2025, Commissioner of Police of Hyderabad city VC Sajjanar said here on Saturday. A total of 23 persons have been named as accused in connection with the incident. Of them, 14 accused have already been arrested, while nine accused who secured anticipatory bail have been served notices as per legal procedure.
According to the police, the investigation revealed serious lapses in planning, crowd management, security arrangements and coordination among the theatre management, event organisers, private security personnel, and others involved in managing the event during which the stampede occurred. The chargesheet names theatre owners and partners, managerial staff, event organisers, private security personnel, bouncers and also cine actor Allu Arjun and his associates, citing their alleged roles and responsibilities related to the incident, the Police Commissioner revealed.
