Northeast Frontier Railway GM Inspects Kamakhya Station
Maligaon: Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR),
conducted a comprehensive inspection of Kamakhya Railway Station on 22 nd June, 2026 to assess
the preparedness and passenger management arrangements for the Ambubachi Mela being held
from 22 nd to 25 th June, 2026. The annual religious event is expected to witness a significant influx
of devotees from various parts of the country, necessitating extensive operational and passenger
facilitation measures by the Railways.

desks and security deployment. He interacted with railway officials and staff deployed at the
station and reviewed the operational readiness to handle the anticipated surge in passenger
traffic during the mela period.

Bengal. In addition, various regular passenger trains have also been temporarily augmented to
enhance carrying capacity and facilitate smooth travel for devotees during the Ambubachi Mela
period.
