There are forces that can confuse Generation Z: Pawan kalyan
New Delhi: “In every generation, there are emotions like anger, frustration, pain, and grief regarding certain social issues. Depending on social and political conditions, these naturally exist in varying degrees among youth. In youth, extremist thoughts are common. Those thoughts should be combined with patriotism and directed toward solutions. Every individual must have the feeling of ‘my country, my land’. Today’s generation should read, learn, research, and analyze any issue before forming a firm opinion. Only then will positive thoughts that benefit the country emerge. Generation Z should stay away from fashionable names and confusing ideas that cloud the mind,” said Jana Sena Party President and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan.
He added that every generation should think in a way that protects national integrity, unity, sovereignty, and character. He was speaking at the conclusion of the “Sena Prasthanam for National Unity” meeting held in Delhi on Monday.
He further said: “The 72-hour massacre carried out by terrorists in Mumbai, India’s commercial capital, is something all Indians remember. I was deeply disturbed by it. When I went to immerse my father’s ashes in the Ganga at Varanasi, I prayed fervently to Lord Kashi Vishwanath to give India strong leadership that would eliminate terrorism and guide the country forward. Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi is a leader who leads the country with unity and selflessness. One of India’s strengths is that whenever it faces difficult times, it produces strong leaders. That is the capability of this nation. I strongly support Shri Modi because of his commitment to the nation. He has transformed the direction of the country and placed it among the highest in the world. Jana Sena Party extends full support to his leadership. I sincerely congratulate Shri Modi for becoming one of the longest-serving Prime Ministers of India elected democratically.”
“Do we see regionalism in soldiers?”
India is safe because of the soldiers guarding its borders. Even in freezing places like Siachen, their service is extraordinary. They never think in terms of “our region”; they think only of “my country.” But in the regions where their families live, regionalism affects them. How is that justified?
When I speak of “nationalism without ignoring regionalism,” I mean that our first priority should be the nation, then the region. It is not right to associate those serving the country with regional divisions. A national party is not defined by how many states it wins or how many votes it gets, but by how much it works to unite the country and uphold constitutional values. A true national party is one that works for national integration.
“One ideology for the state, another for the country is wrong”
A party that travels across the country through the Bharat Jodo Yatra does not permit me to visit Telangana. Permission is denied even to pay tribute to the 1,200 youths who sacrificed their lives for Telangana. Congress engaging in one ideology at the national level and another in ruling states goes against the spirit of the Constitution. Congress must stop hypocritical politics.
I respect the struggles of Telangana youth. Even though I was born in Andhra Pradesh, I deeply respect their sacrifices. Some leaders in Telangana came to power after sacrificing youth. I do not seek any positions in Telangana, but Janasena will work sincerely for the aspirations of Telangana youth. Janasena is a party with a strong ideological foundation. If I believe in an ideology, I am ready to sacrifice everything for it. Struggle is the essence of the party.
“Be careful, they will create confusion”
Political strategies must change according to social changes. Gen Z has a strong mindset and thinks about the country. Youth is the foundation of the nation and guides the future. However, they must be careful about misleading influences on social media.
Even if you have clarity, social media can influence the mind. Do not blindly trust anything that appears fashionable or attractive. Study deeply, research, read, and then form a stable opinion.
Learn about great figures like Bhagat Singh, Subhas Chandra Bose, and Chandrasekhar Azad. Read books. Act with responsibility toward society, the nation, and its unity in diversity. Your thoughts should be logical and rooted in love for the country.
“What does region matter to an Indian?”
There is no country greater than India. It unites diverse cultures, traditions, languages, and people. The idea of unity in diversity is unmatched.
Varghese Kurien brought the White Revolution and made Gujarat a model. E. Sreedharan, born in Kerala, designed the remarkable Delhi Metro. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, from Karnataka, contributed to flood control in Hyderabad’s Musi River.
If India is your home, then every room in the house belongs to you, regardless of which state you are in. For an Indian, the state should not matter; the country must come first. Unfortunately, this spirit has been declining for decades, and that is dangerous. We are all one nation. We all belong to India. Every individual must develop a sense of “we are Indian, we are one.”
