Riyadh, Jan 19: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned heads with his suave presence at the ‘Joy Awards 2026’ in Riyadh, where he brought his trademark charm and effortless style to the red carpet.
In a video shared by the official Joy Awards social media handle, the Pathaan star expressed his happiness at being part of the prestigious event and shared his fondness for Saudi Arabia.
Reflecting on his earlier visits, SRK said it was wonderful to see how the event has grown over the years, adding that it felt “more beautiful” and that it was “lovely to be back.”
The actor also spoke warmly about the love he continues to receive from fans in the region. Calling the response “outstanding,” he said it was deeply heartening and respectful to know that people in Saudi Arabia appreciate his work.
He praised the warmth, kindness and hospitality of the people, saying he truly loved being there. Recalling that he had previously shot one of his films in Saudi Arabia, Shah Rukh shared his desire to return, this time not for work but for leisure. He spoke highly of the country’s locations, culture, people and food, revealing that while he had spent about 12 days there during his last visit, he now hopes to return for a proper holiday.
Shah Rukh Khan was among several international celebrities attending the 2026 Joy Awards, including Millie Bobby Brown, Katy Perry, and Squid Game stars Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun. For the occasion, SRK opted for an all-black look, pairing a black blazer with matching trousers.
Later, taking to X, the actor shared a warm message for Turki Alalshikh, chairperson of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. He congratulated him on five years of the Joy Awards, calling the event spectacular and grand, and expressed his joy at attending the celebration.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s upcoming film King, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures.
On his 60th birthday last year, the makers unveiled a teaser that showcased a darker, more intense avatar of the actor. Featuring high-octane action and gripping visuals, the teaser presented Khan with silver hair, sharp expressions and a brooding, ruthless persona.
One of the teaser’s most talked-about moments featured SRK delivering a chilling line: “Kitne khoon kiye, yaad nahi. Achhe log yaa bure, kabhi pucha nahi. Bas unki aankhon mein ehsaas dekha ki ye unki aakhri saas hain. Aur mein uski wajah.”
The video also subtly showed him holding a “King of Hearts” card, a clear nod to his long-standing title as the “King of Hearts.” The teaser concluded with the powerful line, “dar nahi deshath hu.”
The film is also reported to feature his daughter Suhana Khan, though details about the rest of the cast and the release date are yet to be announced.
