LONDON / CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay landed in London on Friday, September 11, embarking on his inaugural overseas diplomatic and business outreach since assuming office. The week-long visit aims to pitch Tamil Nadu as Asia’s premier investment destination and secure major multi-sector commitments from European business leaders.
The Chief Minister, who departed Chennai late Thursday night via Dubai, leads a high-level official delegation. Key officials accompanying him include Public Works and Sports Development Minister Aadhav Arjuna, Guidance TN MD & CEO Deepak, and senior leadership from the state’s Industries and Finance departments.
The London trade mission forms a vital pillar in the Tamil Nadu government’s long-term roadmap to transform the state into a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036. Capitalizing on the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), the delegation will showcase Tamil Nadu’s industrial ecosystem, skilled workforce, and business-friendly policies to top UK and European conglomerates.
