KTR Slams Govt Over Sexual Harassment Cases Against BRS Legislators, Terming It Shocking

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a blistering attack on the Congress-led Telangana government following the registration of sexual harassment cases against BRS MLAs and MLCs. Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), KTR condemned the legal actions, labeling them as a political vendetta and a blatant misuse of law enforcement machinery.

The controversial FIRs were registered by the Saifabad Police following a high-voltage altercation at the Telangana Legislative Assembly gates, where BRS legislators were protesting their suspension from the House. Female police personnel deployed at the entry point filed complaints alleging physical pushing, assault, and attempt to outrage modesty during the scuffle.

Responding to the charges on X, KTR wrote, “The Chief Minister made his police file a sexual harassment case on BRS MLAs and MLCs in the context of the melee at the assembly entry point! Shocking abuse of law.” He asserted that the opposition party would aggressively fight these “rubbish cases” in a court of law.

KTR further questioned Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand over past inaction in high-profile allegations against ruling party members, asking, “What has happened to the accusations against the Congress leaders who misbehaved with Miss England during the Miss World contest in Hyderabad? Will Telangana police continue to shield the accused?” He concluded his post by directly questioning Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding accountability over selective police action in the state.
