SHANGHAI: Vivo’s performance-focused sub-brand iQOO has officially kicked off its teaser campaign for its next-generation flagship smartphone lineup. Ahead of the official debut in China, the company co-hosted a dedicated display technology event with Samsung Display to showcase breakthrough innovations powering the new flagship series.
The centerpiece of the upcoming flagship is its custom-engineered front panel. Developed in collaboration with Samsung, the device introduces the world’s first 2K resolution display capable of running at a 165Hz refresh rate.
Built on Samsung’s latest M16 OLED architecture, the panel delivers a 33% increase in lifespan compared to previous generations alongside improved power efficiency.
The display features a global peak brightness of 2,800 nits and localized HDR bursts reaching up to 10,000 nits. It offers a 22% improvement in brightness uniformity and nearly 40% higher color consistency.
Designed for esports-grade input performance, the screen incorporates 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling and 3,300Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for eye safety.
Moving away from the camera island design used across the last four flagship generations, the new model introduces a revamped rear design. Dubbed the “Navigator” setup, the triple rear camera module connects three 50MP sensors via a structured metal framework housing a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 3X telephoto lens.
Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s latest 3nm-class Snapdragon 8 Elite architecture, paired with iQOO’s custom Q-series gaming chip to handle frame interpolation and power management. To support heavy gaming, iQOO has stepped up the power capacity to a massive 8,400 mAh silicon-carbon battery paired with 120W wired fast charging.
iQOO has confirmed the new flagship will debut in China by the end of September 2026. Following its domestic unveiling, the global and India releases are slated for October 2026. While official pricing remains under wraps, industry analysts expect base configurations to start around ₹65,000 to ₹85,000 due to global memory component price adjustments.
