AP Police Launch Operation Vajra Prahar

Amaravathi, March 7: Andhra Pradesh police, in coordination with CRPF forces, launched Operation Vajra Prahar today, conducting widespread cordon-and-search operations across several districts. The crackdown targeted contraband, illegal vehicles, and unlawful activities, marking one of the most extensive security drives in recent weeks.

In Annamayya district, police seized banned tobacco products worth nearly ₹20.7 lakh in Chowdepalli limits, a major blow to illegal supply chains. In Kurnool district, raids in Jalavadi village uncovered ganja, liquor, gutka, and illicitly brewed alcohol, with authorities warning villagers against cannabis cultivation and belt shops. Meanwhile, in Alluri Sitharama Raju district, police and CRPF jawans carried out house-to-house checks in Durgaveedhi, seizing six undocumented two-wheelers and verifying identity documents to curb smuggling and drug use.

Officials emphasized that the operation reflects the government’s zero tolerance policy toward contraband and narcotics, while urging community cooperation to ensure law and order in vulnerable areas.
