Modi pays tributes to Mahatma on Martyrs day

New Delhi, Jan 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, stating the Father of the Nation’s ideals, remain central to India’s resolve to become a developed and self-reliant nation.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, “My hundredfold salutations to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his death anniversary. Revered Bapu always laid strong emphasis on Swadeshi, which is also a fundamental pillar of our resolve for a developed and self-reliant India.”
Modi said Mahatma Gandhi’s personality and deeds would continue to inspire generations of Indians to walk on the path of duty.
“His personality and deeds will forever continue to inspire the people of the country to walk the path of duty,” the Prime Minister added.
January 30 is observed as Martyrs’ Day in India to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi, who was assassinated on this day in 1948.
