HYDERABAD: Osmania University (OU) has officially launched its ISO Stage II Audit, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward global administrative and academic excellence. Orchestrated by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), this rigorous evaluation scrutinizes the university’s management systems across four critical international domains.
The audit is being spearheaded by a high-level delegation from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Chennai. The primary team is led by Shri U. S. P. Yadav, External Auditor, and Shri G. Venkatanarayanan, Sc-E & MSCO(S). Expanding the scope of the evaluation, a second expert team led by Shri R. Rajesh, External Auditor, and Shri P. Mohan will join the proceedings tomorrow to inspect specialized aspects of the university’s operations.
The three-day exercise commenced with a high-level briefing involving the university’s senior leadership:

During the session, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing the university’s recent academic transformations, infrastructure upgrades, and unwavering commitment to quality governance. Following the presentation, the BIS auditors engaged in substantive interactions with the Deans of various faculties, Principals of campus colleges, Heads of Departments, and Administrative Directors.
Over the next three days, Osmania University will be evaluated for certification against four prestigious international standards:
ISO 21001:2018 – Educational Organization Management Systems (EOMS)
ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
ISO 50001:2018 – Energy Management Systems (EnMS)
ISO 22000:2018 – Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
This multi-dimensional audit underscores Osmania University’s vision to integrate sustainable practices, energy efficiency, and superior student services into its core operational framework. Attaining these certifications will further solidify OU’s standing as a premier institution dedicated to meeting international benchmarks of excellence.
