Hyderabad, March 27: On the occasion of Global Star Ram Charan’s birthday, the makers of his highly anticipated 16th film, Peddi, have electrified fans by releasing an intense and unexpected first glimpse. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the video introduces the actor in a raw, powerhouse avatar that marks a significant departure from his recent roles. The 45-second clip, titled the “Peddi Pehelwan Glimpse,” reveals a grittier side of the protagonist, showcasing Ram Charan as a formidable wrestler with a bulked-up physique, thick beard, and traditional man-bun. The visuals capture him training in the mud and lifting heavy equipment under torrential rain, setting a high-octane tone for this rustic sports drama.
The glimpse has sparked massive speculation online, especially as earlier promotional material hinted at a storyline centered on cricket. The shift to wrestling, accompanied by a powerful voice-over declaring that wrestling is a “game where you face death itself,” has led many to believe the film may feature the actor in dual roles spanning different sporting eras. Adding to the cinematic experience is a soulful yet surging background score by Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman, which perfectly complements the fierce intensity of Charan’s performance and his viral concluding dialogue: “My pride is in my game.”
Produced by Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film features a stellar ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu. The project has gained even more respect from the industry following reports of Ram Charan’s dedication; the actor reportedly returned to the set immediately after receiving stitches for a minor injury to ensure the shoot stayed on schedule. With the “Pehelwan” look now officially unveiled, the hype for Peddi continues to mount ahead of its grand worldwide theatrical release scheduled for April 30, 2026.
