“Trump–Netanyahu Secret White House Meeting Amid Iran–U.S. Tensions”

Washington, Feb 12: At a time when tensions between Iran and the United States continue, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the U.S. has drawn attention. On Wednesday, Trump and Netanyahu held a secret meeting at the White House for three hours, reportedly discussing several key issues.

After the meeting, Trump made important remarks on Truth Social, stating that talks with Tehran are ongoing but diplomacy remains uncertain. He signaled that coordination would continue if negotiations fail, adding that he has pressured Iran into continuous dialogue and that the doors for talks remain open.

In essence, Trump shifted from warnings to negotiations. Since December 28, unrest has persisted in Iran, with people rebelling against the Khamenei government and widespread violence breaking out. Security forces’ firing reportedly killed 30,000 people.

Trump intervened, warning that if protesters were killed, military action would follow. Accordingly, the USS Abraham Lincoln was deployed to the Arabian Sea. Trump has exerted strong pressure on Iran to immediately conclude a nuclear deal, and talks are currently underway.

Against this backdrop, the Trump–Netanyahu meeting has gained importance. Meanwhile, Israel has joined the U.S.-led “Board of Peace.” After much deliberation, Netanyahu signed on. This forum includes Western partners as well as Turkey and Qatar, despite Israel’s past criticism of their role in Gaza. Ultimately, Israel has now joined the peace council.
