Popular messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature in its web version. Users can now make voice and video calls directly from WhatsApp Web without installing any additional software.
A call button will appear in the personal chat window, allowing users to initiate audio or video calls instantly. Currently, this feature is being tested with a limited number of users, but it will be expanded to everyone soon.
Until now, making calls required the mobile app or downloading the Windows/Mac desktop app. With this update, users working on laptops or PCs can place calls directly from the browser.
Importantly, calls made via WhatsApp Web will also be protected with end-to-end encryption, just like on Android and iOS.
