HYDERABAD: Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as the Congress administration completes 1,000 days in office, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) termed the ruling government’s tenure a “flop” and a “criminal waste” of public time and state resources.
Addressing a media briefing at Telangana Bhavan, KTR officially released an extensive “charge sheet” detailing the alleged failures, unfulfilled electoral guarantees, and administrative setbacks under the 1,000-day Congress rule.
KTR stated that while the Congress party campaigned on promises to bring transformational governance within 100 days, it has instead delivered “1,000 days of daily struggle and social crisis” across Telangana.
The BRS leader accused the administration of reneging on key agricultural promises, including the ₹15,000 per acre Rythu Bharosa assistance, the ₹12,000 allocation for agricultural laborers, and a comprehensive ₹2 lakh farm loan waiver.
Highlighting youth issues, KTR pointed out that the Congress’s primary election pledge of filling two lakh government jobs within its first year remains unachieved even after 1,000 days, alongside delays in releasing the promised ₹5 lakh Vidya Bharosa education cards.
The charge sheet outlined the non-implementation of the ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women under the Maha Lakshmi scheme, gas cylinder subsidies, and promised gold tokens for beneficiaries.
Terming the governance structure as characterized by “lies, ignorance, anarchy, and corruption,” KTR alleged that developmental momentum in Hyderabad and across the state has ground to a halt due to internal power struggles and policy mismanagement.
The release of the charge sheet marks the kickoff of a week-long, statewide campaign by the BRS to publicize the opposition’s allegations across districts. KTR asserted that the BRS is not raising these issues merely out of political opposition, but to reflect public frustration over systemic betrayals across all major demographics.
The charges generated an immediate political rift in the capital, coinciding with similar demonstrations by the BJP, while Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress leadership defended their record by pointing to ongoing infrastructure drives, welfare initiatives, and public recruitment drives executed over the past 1,000 days.
