
Gorakhpur: The Additional General Manager of North Eastern Railway, Mr. Vinod Kumar Shukla, inspected the circulating area on the western side of Gorakhpur Junction railway station on April 21, 2026. During the inspection, he directed that CCTV cameras be installed at the eastern and western entry gates of the cab-way located on the western side of the station to ensure passenger safety. He also instructed plantation and cleanliness measures along the roadside of the cab-way on the northern side for beautification.
The Additional General Manager directed that the pathways be repaired, open drainage be covered, and damaged roads be fixed. He also instructed that a park be developed on the vacant land near the reservation office and decorated with flowering plants. He emphasized that parcels should not be kept in the open on platforms and should be properly maintained. He further directed that railway land be cleared of encroachments and that trees be planted in vacant areas.
During the inspection, he instructed the concerned officials to ensure proper lighting arrangements at the western entry gate of the cab-way on the northern side for passenger safety. He also directed the deployment of Railway Protection Force personnel at the railway security booth near the western entry gate and the construction of boundary walls along the railway lines. He ordered that open manholes in drains be covered at the earliest and that adequate arrangements be made for the safe movement of passengers. He also instructed the Railway Protection Force to restrict the entry of unauthorized persons.
The Additional General Manager directed that ongoing construction works within the station premises be completed at the earliest and that plantation drives be carried out in vacant spaces to enhance beautification. These measures aim to give Gorakhpur Junction station a clean and attractive appearance and to provide passengers with a pleasant and comfortable environment.
On this occasion, senior officials from the Engineering Department, Station Director Mr. Ratandeep Gupta, along with senior officers, supervisors, and staff from the headquarters and Lucknow division were present.
