Barkot Mountaineer Guides Successful Mt. Trishul (7,120 m) Expedition

Barkot: A proud moment for Uttarkashi’s Yamuna Valley as Ashutosh Rana, a mountaineering guide from Barkot, successfully guided the Mt. Trishul Expedition (7,120 metres), marking another significant achievement for the region’s adventure tourism and mountaineering community.

The expedition was conducted from June 1 to June 22 and was organized by Parvat Exploration with sponsorship from ONGC.

The climbing team was led by Sourabh Rawat from Bhukki Ganga Valley, while Ashutosh Rana from Barkot served as one of the expedition’s climbing guides. The summit team also included Neeraj Patel, an ONGC employee from Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

The expedition successfully reached the 7,120-metre summit of Mt. Trishul on June 20 at 10:40 a.m., completing the climb safely under the guidance of the experienced mountaineering team.

The successful ascent highlights the expertise of mountaineers from Uttarkashi and reinforces the region’s reputation as one of India’s leading centres for high-altitude mountaineering and adventure activities. Local residents and adventure enthusiasts have congratulated the expedition team, describing the achievement as an inspiration for young climbers across the state.
