BJYM Workers Vandalize Congress MLA Camp Office in Bhuvanagiri

BHUVANAGIRI: High tension prevailed in Bhuvanagiri town on Tuesday morning after activists from the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) allegedly attacked and ransacked the local camp office of Congress MLA Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy. The incident marks a sharp escalation in state-wide political clashes between the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) across Telangana.

According to local authorities and eyewitnesses, a group of BJYM protesters gathered outside the MLA’s camp office, raising slogans against the state government. The demonstration quickly turned volatile as protesters forcibly pushed past security, tore down promotional banners and flex boards at the entrance, and hurled eggs and stones at the building. Office furniture and glass window panes sustained damage before police personnel rushed to the scene to disperse the crowd.

The attack follows a series of retaliatory confrontations across the state after Youth Congress activists threw black paint on the gates of the Telangana BJP state headquarters in Hyderabad on Monday. The Hyderabad incident sparked immediate retaliatory attacks by BJP and BJYM cadres targeting Congress offices in Nalgonda and Bhuvanagiri, including the camp office of R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and MLA Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy.

Following news of the attack, large numbers of Congress workers assembled at the Bhuvanagiri camp office, demanding the immediate arrest of the BJYM activists involved and staging sit-in demonstrations on nearby roads. Police forces have been deployed heavily at key political offices, party headquarters, and sensitive intersections in Bhuvanagiri to prevent further retaliatory violence between the two party cadres.
