Draped in the Tricolour, Asha Bhosle’s mortal remains were placed for public homage at her residence in Mumbai. The ceremony reflected the nation’s gratitude for her immense contribution. Family members, officials, celebrities and fans gathered in silence. The atmosphere remained somber as prayers were offered before the state-honour funeral.

Asha Bhosle’s professional journey spanned over seven decades. She was known for iconic songs like Dil Cheez Kya Hai, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, Mera Kuchh Saaman, and Chura Liya Hai Tumne. From classical and ghazals to cabaret and pop, she constantly reinvented herself. Her career made her one of the most celebrated and influential voices in Indian music history.
Veteran actor Mumtaz shared a heartfelt tribute, calling Asha Bhosle the “soul” behind many of her memorable roles. She posted a nostalgic video dancing to “Koi Sehari Babu” from the film Loafer. In her note, she wrote, “Her songs gave life, charm, and emotion to my performances.” Mumtaz added that working with Bhosle’s voice “was truly a blessing.”

Composer Shamir Tandon shared photos from his final recording session with singing legend Asha Bhosle. He called her an “iron lady” and a symbol of women’s empowerment. Recalling her words, he quoted, “Jaana toh sabko hai… mere jaane ke baad meri musical life ko celebrate karna.” He said she looked “silent, yet smiling, radiant and glowing as always.”
Music maestro AR Rahman arrived at her residence to pay his last respects. Several leaders and film personalities also visited as news of her passing spread. Among them were Devendra Fadnavis, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi. Many remembered her “incredible range and versatility” that gave Indian cinema countless evergreen songs.
