Hyderabad: Director General of Police, Telangana, Sri C.V. Anand, IPS, chaired a review meeting on Thursday to discuss and finalise the reorganisation of police stations in the jurisdictions of the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City Police Commissionerates.
The GO regarding this was passed in late December last year but the execution of some aspects remains incompleted leading to confusion in the various commissionerates . During the meeting, the Commissioners presented proposals relating to the reorganisation of police stations, territorial jurisdiction, administrative requirements and other related issues. The DGP directed that the reorganisation of police station limits should be carried out in accordance with the Government Orders (GOs), taking into consideration the jurisdictions of municipal bodies, revenue divisions and courts.
Emphasising the need for long-term planning, the DGP stated that future urban expansion, population growth and administrative requirements should be taken into account while restructuring police station jurisdictions. He also instructed officials to consider the views of all stakeholders during the process.
The DGP issued specific directions regarding the determination of police station limits in certain areas of Hyderabad city. He stressed that the new jurisdictional boundaries should be finalised in a manner that avoids inconvenience to the public, government departments and the judiciary. He finalised the disputes and field issues after discussion and got them incorporated in the proposals .
Sri C.V. Anand reiterated that the reorganisation of police stations should strengthen people-centric and efficient policing and improve the delivery of police services to the public.
The meeting was attended by Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, Future City Commissioner of Police Sri Tarun Joshi, IPS, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Sri Ramesh Reddy, IPS, Malkajgiri Commissioner of Police Smt. Sumathi, IPS, along with Joint Commissioners and other senior police officers.
