Hyderabad, March 7: In a landmark development, as many as 126 Maoists are set to surrender today in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The event, described as the largest surrender in the state’s history, will take place at the Command Control Center in Banjara Hills at 4 PM, where the Chief Minister is scheduled to address the media.
According to official sources, the surrender includes the entire PLGA (People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army) committee led by Devji, who will be laying down arms and joining mainstream society. The Maoists are expected to hand over their weapons and formally renounce armed struggle, marking a significant step toward peace in the region.
While this mass surrender is being hailed as a major success for the government’s outreach and rehabilitation efforts, reports confirm that Maoist supreme leader Ganapathi is not part of the group.
Officials believe this move will strengthen peace initiatives and reduce insurgency-related violence in Telangana, paving the way for reintegration of former cadres into civilian life.
