KTR Criticizes Youth Congress Protest at India AI Summit, Questions Congress Contradictions

Hyderabad, Feb 21; At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi, Youth Congress leaders staged a protest, drawing sharp criticism from BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). He condemned the use of global platforms for political demonstrations, saying such actions damage the nation’s reputation.

KTR emphasized that international summits are meant to showcase India’s talent to the world, not to serve as venues for political dissent. He warned that protests at such events could create negative impressions about India globally. While acknowledging that differences of opinion are natural in a democracy, he stressed the importance of choosing the right time and place to express them, noting that an international summit is not appropriate for such actions.

He also pointed out the irony that the protest occurred while Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was delivering his speech at the summit. KTR highlighted contradictions within Congress, noting that while Rahul Gandhi opposed the summit, Revanth Reddy not only attended but praised the central government’s initiatives, dismissing concerns about AI-related job losses and proposing the creation of an AI War Room for coordinated monitoring.

Meanwhile, Youth Congress leaders criticized Revanth Reddy’s participation, questioning the party’s stance and alleging that his approach reflected more influence from Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu than from Rahul Gandhi. They accused him of embarrassing the Congress at the national level.
