Miraculous Escape: TGSRTC Bus Veers Off Road, Hangs Over Open Agricultural Well in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR — Over 50 passengers had a narrow escape when a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus lost control and plunged directly into the protective wall of an open agricultural well near Sundaragiri village in Karimnagar district.

The incident occurred as the bus, belonging to the Husnabad depot, was negotiating a curve on the Husnabad-Karimnagar route. Preliminary reports indicate that a mechanical failure—specifically a snapped steering link rod—caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The bus veered off the road and hurtled toward an agricultural well.

The front wheels of the bus crashed into the concrete wall of the open well, leaving the vehicle dangling dangerously over the water edge before coming to a halt.

No fatalities were reported. Around 11 to 13 passengers sustained minor injuries and were evacuated safely. Following the crash, panicked passengers evacuated through the exit doors and windows. Local residents rushed to the spot to assist with the rescue before emergency teams arrived.

Police Sub-Inspector Jagadeeshwar, along with revenue and RTC depot officials, arrived at the site to inspect the scene. The injured passengers were shifted to the Husnabad Government Hospital via 108 ambulances for medical treatment. Heavy machinery (proclain cranes) was deployed to pull the dangling bus away from the well and clear the route. Local police have registered a case regarding the accident.
