“NDA to get 326 Seats” Predicts India Today C-Voter Survey

New Delhi: The latest India Today-CVoter Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey reveals that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the most popular national leader, though the ruling coalition shows signs of minor electoral erosion. If Lok Sabha elections were held today, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is projected to comfortably cross the majority mark by securing 326 seats, down by 26 seats compared to the January projections. Individually, the BJP is projected to win 261 seats, placing it just below the standalone 272-majority mark, while the Congress party shows upward momentum with a projection of 106 seats. In the personal leadership contest, PM Modi retains a strong lead with 48.7% backing as the top choice for Prime Minister, followed by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi at 27.1%, and actor-turned-politician Vijay making a notable debut in third place with 9.2% support.

At the state level, the political landscape in crucial battlegrounds like Uttar Pradesh reflects a tightening contest, where the opposition INDIA bloc holds a slight edge with a projection of 41 seats against the NDA’s 38 seats. Analysts attribute this shift to emerging socioeconomic concerns, including recent discussions around educational equity and local administrative issues. Beyond seat arithmetic, the bi-annual survey of over 25,000 respondents highlights sustained public alignment on key policy matters, with 70.4% of participants supporting the “One Nation, One Election” initiative to hold simultaneous national and assembly polls. Overall, the survey depicts an electorate that maintains firm confidence in central leadership while demonstrating selective opposition gains in key regional pockets.
