In the Telugu states, Sankranti festival is not just about traditional foods and cockfights; it is also the season of real battles on the silver screen between star heroes. Sankranti 2027, however, is set to be more crowded than ever before. Already, senior stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and even Pawan Kalyan are in the race. Despite such massive competition, young hero Nithin has decided not to step back and will enter the festival arena with his new film.
Recently successful with the film Ai, director Anji K. Maniputra is helming Nithin’s next project. Produced under Nithin’s own banner, Sreshth Movies, the film is reportedly being considered for the title Sankranti Subhakankshalu (“Sankranti Greetings”). With a festive title, the makers are determined to release it exactly during Sankranti 2027. They believe it will be a complete family entertainer, delivering the kind of fun audiences expect during the festival season. However, with theaters packed by big‑star releases, the hot topic in Tollywood now is whether Nithin can hold his ground amidst such heavy competition.
