Hyderabad, March 25: The Telangana Civil Supplies Department has clarified that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or cooking gas in the state. Addressing the heavy rush of motorists at various petrol bunks in Hyderabad, the department urged citizens not to panic.
“Fuel supply from refineries is proceeding normally. Sufficient stocks are available to meet public needs. The overcrowding at filling stations is purely due to rumors. People are engaging in panic buying; please do not believe false propaganda,” the department stated.
20,000 Liters Available: Stephen Raveendra
Telangana Civil Supplies Commissioner Stephen Raveendra reiterated that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel anywhere in the state and advised against believing rumors. He urged motorists not to hoard fuel unnecessarily. He noted that on Tuesday alone, 1,500 petrol and diesel tankers were dispatched to bunks. He confirmed that approximately 20,000 liters of petrol are available and that oil companies maintain enough stock for daily requirements.
Sufficient Stock Exists: Petroleum Dealers Association
The Telangana Petroleum Dealers Association also responded, declaring that there is no fuel crisis. “HPCL, IOCL, and BPCL have adequate stocks. People are queuing up at bunks out of a fear that fuel won’t be available. Do not trust misinformation. Pre-emptive bulk buying is what is actually creating the logistical hurdles,” the association noted.
CM to Review with Officials Today
A high-level meeting regarding the stocks of petrol, gas cylinders, and urea in the state is scheduled for today. CM Revanth Reddy will conduct a review with officials at 2:00 PM in the Assembly Committee Hall. The Chief Minister is expected to provide directions on measures to ensure there are no disruptions in the energy supply chain.
