Hyderabad, March 5: Osmania University has decided to conduct a re examination for students of the three year LLB Honours first year first semester after cancelling an earlier paper due to a question paper issue.
According to a statement released by the Controller of Examinations, the paper titled Legal and Constitutional History of India which was conducted on February 27 has been officially cancelled. The university took the decision after it was found that the question paper had similarities with another law examination conducted earlier.
The re exam will now be held on March 7 for all affected students. Officials clarified that there will be no change in the examination centres and students can appear at the same centres that were originally allotted.
The examination will take place in the afternoon session from 2 pm to 5 pm. University authorities have urged students to attend the examination as per the revised schedule.
The issue came to light after it was noticed that the question paper used for the February 27 LLB Honours examination was identical to the paper used in another exam conducted on February 25. That earlier examination was for first year students of the five year LLB course and the three year LLB course.
The February 25 exam was titled History of Courts Legislatures and Legal Profession in India. Since both exams reportedly carried the same question paper, the university decided to cancel the LLB Honours exam to maintain fairness in the evaluation process.
University officials said the decision was taken in the interest of students and to ensure transparency in the examination system. Students have been advised to prepare and appear for the rescheduled exam without confusion.
