Hyderabad: A significant development occurred on Sunday in the phone tapping case that has caused a sensation in Telangana.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has escalated its inquiry into the matter. In response to notices issued by the SIT, led by Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar, BRS MLC Naveen Rao appeared for questioning at the Jubilee Hills Police Station.
Reports indicate that SIT officials interrogated Naveen Rao regarding his associations and the individuals with whom he allegedly collaborated in connection with this case.
It has been reported that Naveen Rao failed to provide satisfactory responses to any of the inquiries during the SIT’s investigation. He refuted allegations of having ties to Praneeth Rao and Shravan Kumar, who are among the accused in the phone tapping case.
The BRS MLC expressed regret over what he perceives as a politically motivated campaign aimed at damaging his reputation. He asserted his lack of any association with the accused and clarified that he has never communicated with them, either directly or indirectly. Naveen Rao emphasised his willingness to demonstrate that the charges against him are unfounded. The SIT officials recorded the statement provided by MLC Naveen Rao during the course of the investigation.
Additionally, it has come to light that the SIT is preparing to interrogate BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, as well as the party’s working president and former minister K.T. Rama Rao, in connection with this case. Notices are expected to be issued to both individuals shortly.
