Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 29: Against the backdrop of evolving maritime security challenges in the Indian Ocean Region, the Headquarters Southern Air Command, in collaboration with the Centre for Aerospace Power and Strategic Studies (CAPSS), will host the second edition of its annual Maritime Seminar on February 2.
Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of the Integrated Staff Committee (CISC), will attend the seminar as the Chief Guest. The theme of this year’s seminar is “Enhancing Air Operations in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).”
The seminar will focus on intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, along with the effective utilisation of island territories to enhance both offensive and defensive capabilities within the framework of multidomain operations in the Indian Ocean Region.
Highlighting the growing strategic importance of the IOR, the seminar will underscore the need for jointness among the armed forces, technological integration, and seamless coordination between the services.
Subject matter experts from various domains and services will participate in the seminar and present their insights on emerging security challenges in the maritime domain.
