Taapsee’s U-Turn: From Criticism to Praise for Tollywood

Actress Taapsee’s recent remarks on the South Indian film industry, especially Tollywood, went viral. After moving to Bollywood, she shared experiences from her first film and alleged that South filmmakers pressured her to wear padded bras in glamorous scenes and songs to look more attractive. These comments drew widespread criticism.

Now, Taapsee has praised Tollywood. She said Telugu films provide roles that give greater importance to acting, whereas Tamil cinema offers fewer such opportunities. According to her, Tamil films did not give her as many good roles as Tollywood did. She added that Telugu audiences admire her greatly, and the opportunities she received in Tollywood enhanced her value and helped her career significantly.

Currently focused on Bollywood, Taapsee has often commented that acting in South films did not give her the recognition she deserved. She was introduced as a heroine in the Telugu movie Jhummandi Naadam. Her last Telugu film was Mission Impossible in 2022.
