Telangana declares local holiday in Mulugu tomorrow for Medaram Jathara

Mulugu (Telangana), Jan 29: The Telangana government has declared Friday as a local holiday for the entire Mulugu district in view of the Sri Sammakka Saralamma Maha Jathara–2026.
Mulugu District Collector and Magistrate Divakara T S, issued orders declaring the holiday to facilitate government employees and the public to offer worship as the goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma arrive and stay at the Gaddelu.
The Maha Jathara, declared a State Festival, is being held from January 28 to January 31, 2026, at Medaram village in S.S. Tadvai Mandal.
The holiday will apply to all State Government offices, educational institutions, and local bodies in the district, except treasuries and establishments covered under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
In lieu of the holiday, February 14, 2026 (Second Saturday) will be observed as a working day. Employees deployed for Jathara-related sectoral duties will be exempted from the working day.
