Venkaiah Naidu: Knowledge Is More Important Than Degrees

Vijayawada, Feb 21: Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu said that one should never forget their country, mother tongue, educational institution, or teachers. He participated in the golden jubilee celebrations of the alumni association at Parvathaneni Brahmayya Siddhartha College of Arts and Science in Vijayawada.

He stated that youth must give importance to research and develop awareness of social issues. Traditions handed down by ancestors should be passed on to future generations. The greatness of the Telugu language should be showcased to the world. India has always been a Vishwaguru (global teacher) but has never invaded other nations. Character is more important than caste, and knowledge matters more than degrees.

He praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for prioritizing technology and stressed the need to regulate Artificial Intelligence (AI), warning that unchecked AI could weaken human relationships and fuel hatred. He criticized social media for becoming a platform for misinformation and urged guiding future generations on the right path. He noted that many jobs may disappear in the future, which requires serious discussion.

He condemned politicians for using abusive language, pointing out that those who did so in the last elections were defeated, and urged society to boycott such individuals. He suggested including the Ramayana in school curricula, encouraging parents and elders to spend more time with children, and advised people to rely less on Google and more on their own intellect. He concluded by stressing that everyone must work together for the creation of a better society.
