Amaravati, Feb 19: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council was adjourned for the third consecutive day shortly after it began. YSRCP members had submitted adjournment motions seeking a discussion on the alleged links between Indapur Dairy and Heritage, but Chairman Moshen Raju rejected them.
As YSRCP members raised slogans against the government, Minister Achchennaidu expressed strong displeasure, criticizing them for repeatedly bringing the same adjournment motion and wasting the Council’s time.
In protest, YSRCP MLCs Ramesh Yadav, Bommi Israel, Monditoka Arun Kumar, and others created a ruckus by blowing whistles near the Chairman’s podium. Ruling party members condemned the act, saying that blowing whistles inside the Council demeans the dignity of the Upper House.
Assembly security staff have begun investigating how the whistles were brought into the Council premises. The incident once again disrupted proceedings and highlighted the tense political atmosphere in the state legislature.
