Manoj Bajpayee’s Latest Flick ‘Last Man in Tower’ Teaser Unveiled

MUMBAI: The official teaser for the upcoming film adaptation of Booker Prize-winning author Aravind Adiga’s novel Last Man in Tower was released on Thursday, offering a compelling first look into an intense urban drama centered on morality, greed, and community tension. Directed by LA-based filmmaker Ben Rekhi and produced by actor Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, the film marks the production house’s maiden venture into Hindi feature cinema and is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026. The story follows Masterji, a retired schoolteacher played by Manoj Bajpayee, whose stubborn refusal to accept a lucrative redevelopment offer for his housing society triggers a cascading rift among his long-time friends and neighbors.

The project brings together an impressive creative team, marking the first-ever on-screen collaboration between cinema veterans Manoj Bajpayee and Boman Irani, alongside a strong ensemble cast that includes Divya Dutta and Sukant Goel. The screenplay has been adapted by Sooni Taraporevala (Salaam Bombay!), featuring Hindi-language dialogues by National Award-winning writer Juhi Chaturvedi (Piku), paired with a musical score composed by Govind Vasantha (96) and cinematography by Rangarajan Ramabadran. Highlighting the core conflict of holding onto human values during turbulent times, producer Rana Daggubati and director Ben Rekhi praised the depth brought by the lead actors, building significant anticipation for the film ahead of its September release.
