NEW DELHI: Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has left for New Delhi following a call from the Congress high command. She is scheduled to meet AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and has also sought an appointment with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.
The recent comments made by Konda Surekha’s daughter, Sushmita, in Geesugonda targeting Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy have sparked intense discussion. The TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) had issued a show-cause notice to Konda Surekha seeking an explanation regarding her daughter’s remarks. She subsequently submitted her response to committee chairman Mallu Ravi.
Following this, the TPCC forwarded a report to the high command detailing the developments involving Konda Surekha, alongside a report concerning Planning Board Vice-Chairman Chinna Reddy in connection with the Wanaparthy issue. Against the backdrop of these developments, Minister Konda Surekha’s trip to Delhi has heightened suspense over what decision the high command will take regarding her.
Meanwhile, intense speculation is underway in the capital regarding a Telangana cabinet expansion. Political circles are discussing the possibility that the Congress high command could make crucial decisions regarding cabinet changes and additions. Party sources also suggest that decisions regarding nominated posts are likely to be finalized. Amid the buzz surrounding cabinet expansion and post allocations, top state Congress leaders have headed to Delhi.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy arrived in Delhi a short while ago. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar along with Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao are already present there. However, several leaders maintain that they are visiting Delhi to attend the YSR Award presentation ceremony at the Swaminathan Foundation on Wednesday.
