PM Modi Calls for Zero Tolerance on Terrorism 26th SCO Summit in Bishkek

BISHKEK: Addressing the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon member states to move beyond vision toward concrete, measurable outcomes built around the core pillars of security, connectivity, and opportunity.

Unveiling a 10-point roadmap for regional cooperation, the Prime Minister emphasized the urgent need to dismantle the entire ecosystem of terrorism—specifically targeting illicit financing, online radicalization, recruitment, and safe havens—while firmly rejecting double standards and state-sponsored terrorism.

Emphasizing India’s stance on regional infrastructure and economic integration, PM Modi stated that connectivity projects must strictly respect the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of all member nations. On global geopolitical tensions, he asserted that conflict cannot yield solutions and advocated for resolving disputes strictly through dialogue and diplomacy to safeguard energy security, global supply chains, and maritime trade.

Highlighted by the signing of the Bishkek Declaration celebrating the SCO’s 25th anniversary, the summit also saw PM Modi announce that India will host the inaugural session of the SCO Civilizational Dialogue Forum later this year, aiming to transform regional ties from government-centric cooperation into a vibrant, people-driven partnership.
