CM Revanth Reddy Meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi; Invites Him to Inaugurate ‘Raksha Expo 2026’

NEW DELHI: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to discuss strategic defense infrastructure projects and extend an official invitation for the state’s flagship global events.

During the high-level meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy invited the Defence Minister to grace the upcoming Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 as a distinguished guest and officially inaugurate the Raksha Expo 2026 (Defence Expo), scheduled to be hosted at Bharat Future City from December 7 to 9.

CM Revanth Reddy requested the Defence Ministry’s cooperation to conduct the expo to international standards. He urged the Union Minister to facilitate necessary airspace clearances for an air show, including static displays and aerial demonstrations by the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran and Sarang aerobatic teams.

The Chief Minister sought full backing from major Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs)—including HAL, BEL, BDL, and MDL—as well as DRDO laboratories to showcase cutting-edge indigenous defense systems during the three-day summit.

Revanth Reddy informed the Defence Minister that the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) has agreed to allocate 416.18 acres of land in Devarakadra Mandal, Mahabubnagar district, for a prestigious Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) project on a 33-year lease at a nominal annual fee of ₹1.

Addressing defense requirements for the expansion of Adilabad airport, the Chief Minister confirmed that the state government has already acquired 750 acres of land and is prepared to acquire an additional 750 acres to fulfill the Ministry of Defence’s total requirement of 1,500 acres.

Accompanying Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the meeting were State Energy Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy, MPs M. Anil Kumar Yadav, Dr. Mallu Ravi, Suresh Shetkar, and Porika Balram Naik, along with senior state administration officials.
