SAN FRANCISCO: Google has officially expanded its hardware lineup with the announcement of the Google Fitbit Air, a ultra-lightweight, screenless fitness tracker engineered to offer comprehensive health monitoring without the constant distraction of digital displays or wrist notifications.
Designed as a sleek “pebble” that snaps into a variety of woven and leather wristbands, the Fitbit Air prioritizes 24/7 comfort and long-term wearability. By stripping away the screen, Google aims to capture users who suffer from notification fatigue or those who prefer to wear traditional analog timepieces while still tracking key biometrics.
Despite its minimal profile, the tracker packs high-fidelity sensors capable of continuous, round-the-clock monitoring. Core capabilities of the device include continuous 24/7 heart rate tracking, resting heart rate analysis, heart rate variability (HRV), and continuous SpO2 (blood oxygen) tracking.
Built-in heart rhythm monitoring designed to detect potential signs of Atrial Fibrillation (Afib). Advanced sleep-stage logging and sleep quality scoring. Designed to be worn unobtrusively at night, users can seamlessly pair both a smartwatch (such as the Google Pixel Watch) and the Fitbit Air to the Google Health ecosystem, switching between the two without losing continuous health coverage.
Deep integration with the Google Health Coach app provides tailored recovery recommendations and intelligent activity logging.
Without the power draw of an active display, the Fitbit Air boasts up to 7 days of battery life on a single charge. For users on the go, Google highlighted a new fast-charging capability that delivers a full day’s worth of tracking power in just five minutes.
The Google Fitbit Air is debuting in four soft colorways: Obsidian, Berry, Lavender, and Fog. Sales in India to begin on October 2, 2026, priced at ₹13,999 across the Google Store, Amazon, Flipkart, and major retail partners.
Purchases include a complimentary three-month subscription to Google Health Premium, giving users full access to advanced AI coaching tools and personalized recovery metrics.
Google is also partnering with select brands for regional releases, including a Special Edition Pokémon Sleep model featuring a custom sleeping-themed band that integrates sleep metrics directly into interactive gamified routines.
