CJP Demands CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s Resignation in 48 HOURS, Warns of Nationwide Agitation

NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) issued a 48-hour deadline demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, threatening a massive, nationwide protest and an indefinite sit-in if the poll panel chief fails to step down. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke launched a sharp attack on the poll chief, labeling him the “biggest threat to India’s democracy” and accusing the Election Commission of India (ECI) of systematically compromising the voting rights of citizens. Dipke asserted that since Kumar took charge, the government has effectively been deciding who gets to vote, turning the core definition of democracy upside down.

Central to the CJP’s ultimatum are allegations regarding the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Dipke claimed that over 13 crore votes—representing roughly 13 to 14 percent of the country’s total electorate—have been deleted from voter rolls. Highlighting what he described as a deliberate pattern to defeat strong regional forces, Dipke alleged that mass deletions selectively targeted key opposition constituencies, citing the removal of 50,000 votes in West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s constituency, 100,000 votes in Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s constituency, and 40,000 votes in former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s constituency.

The CJP’s ultimatum escalates an already intense political storm following recent investigative reports revealing that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had recorded formal dissent or raised procedural objections at least 14 times regarding decisions, orders, and automated software used during the SIR drive. Demanding the immediate suspension of the SIR process, the repeal of the 2023 Election Commissioner Appointment Act, and the initiation of criminal proceedings against the CEC, the CJP warned that failure to meet the 48-hour deadline will trigger a “Jantar Mantar 2.0” demonstration alongside nationwide agitations until the CEC steps down.
