HYDERABAD: Firebrand Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh launched a scathing attack on the Telangana Congress leadership today following Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s high-profile decision to recommend the removal of Cabinet Minister Konda Surekha and replace Planning Board Vice-Chairman G. Chinna Reddy. Terming the sudden structural shake-up a clear sign of deep internal rot, the BJP leader declared that the ruling party is on the brink of political implosion.
Addressing reporters at his residence, Raja Singh claimed that the fallout between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and senior leaders like Konda Surekha exposes the growing fractures within the ruling alliance. He argued that the Congress party’s failure to maintain internal discipline or respect senior leaders is eroding public trust just months into its tenure.
“What we are witnessing today in Pragathi Bhavan—or Praja Bhavan—is pure political infighting and chaos,” Raja Singh asserted. “When a sitting Cabinet Minister publicly challenges her own Chief Minister and accuses the leadership of targeting BC leaders, it shows that the Revanth Reddy government has completely lost control over its administration.”
On Konda Surekha’s Ouster and BC Leadership
Slamming the Chief Minister’s recommendation to drop Konda Surekha from the Cabinet following her daughter’s public outburst against Revanth Reddy, Raja Singh accused the Congress high command of adopting double standards and scapegoating senior Backward Class leaders.
“Konda Surekha explicitly stated that she was being targeted because she belongs to a BC community and refuses to act as a rubber stamp,” the Goshamahal legislator remarked. “The Congress party used the BC card during elections to secure votes, but the moment a senior leader raises her voice or expresses dissent, she is unceremoniously shown the door. Is this the Indiramma Rajyam they promised?”
Raja Singh further mocked the party’s claims of internal unity, pointing out that if a Cabinet Minister refuses to resign and publicly threatens a political backlash, the government’s foundation is fundamentally unstable.
On Chinna Reddy and Administrative Chaos
Turning his attention to the rescinding of senior Congress leader G. Chinna Reddy’s appointment as Vice-Chairman of the Telangana Planning Board, Raja Singh alleged that the Chief Minister is removing anyone who dares to question his style of functioning.
“First G. Chinna Reddy is humiliated and replaced, then Konda Surekha is recommended for dismissal, and tomorrow it will be another leader who refuses to bow down,” Singh said. “Appointments and removals are being made on personal whims rather than administrative merit. Instead of focusing on fulfilling its 6 Guarantees and solving farmers’ issues, this government is fully consumed by internal purges and factional feuds.”
Predicting further turmoil within the Congress fold, Raja Singh claimed that several aggrieved leaders and MLAs are in touch with opposition parties. He urged the Governor to carefully assess the stability of the administration as political tensions escalate across the state.
