Panaji, Jan 14: A heartwarming video from Goa has recently gone viral, capturing a selfless act by a female Rapido driver that has won the hearts of thousands online.
Late at night on January 12, 2026, a foreign tourist found herself lost and visibly distressed in the Batalbatim area of South Goa. The traveler had reportedly been trying to navigate back to her accommodation, but Google Maps failed to provide a clear route, leaving her stranded in a secluded, dark area around 10:00 PM.
Sindhu Kumari, a local woman working as a Rapido bike-taxi rider, spotted the tourist wandering alone and appearing terrified. Sensing the danger of the situation, Sindhu immediately stopped her bike to intervene.
According to the viral footage and witness accounts:
Sindhu approached the panicked tourist, calmed her down, and assured her that she was safe.
Despite the late hour, Sindhu personally drove the tourist to her destination, identified as Hotel Coconut Grove.
In a gesture that moved many, Sindhu reportedly refused to accept any money for the ride, stating that her priority was simply ensuring the visitor’s safety.
The video, which shows the emotional tourist hugging and thanking Sindhu upon reaching the hotel, has sparked a wave of “Real India” tributes.
Commenters have hailed Sindhu as a “true ambassador of Indian hospitality,” with many tagging Rapido to officially recognize her bravery.
The incident has reignited conversations about the importance of more female riders in the gig economy to enhance the safety of solo female travelers.
