Imran was sentenced to 10 years in jail for leaking official secrets

New Delhi January 30 : Ex-Prime Minister , Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan got a huge shock. A Pakistani court has sentenced Imran to ten years in prison for leaking official secrets. Along with Imran, former foreign minister and PTI vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also sentenced to 10 years by a special court on Tuesday. Before stepping down as Prime Minister in 2022 , Imran Khan spoke at a public rally. They accused the superpower America of conspiring to topple their government. Allegations were made that the military government of Pakistan was acting in accordance with the orders of the US. Some documents were displayed in the rally as proofs of this. He said that they were collected from the Pakistan Embassy in America . The Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan registered a case against Imran Khan and Qureshi for violating the country’s secret laws by disclosing the details of official diplomatic information . The special court which investigated the matter found both of them guilty. To this extent, the verdict was issued by imposing ten years imprisonment on both of them.
