PM Modi Unveils ‘MANAV’ Vision, Calls for Democratised AI at India AI Impact Summit

New Delhi, Feb 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today delivered a keynote address at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. The summit, one of the largest global gatherings on artificial intelligence, brought together heads of state, ministers, tech leaders, academics, and policymakers to discuss the transformative role of AI in economies, governance, and society.

In his speech, PM Modi outlined India’s roadmap for responsible and inclusive AI, stressing that the country sees “future, not fear” in artificial intelligence. He announced the ‘MANAV Vision’ – a framework aimed at ensuring AI development serves humanity, fosters trust, and promotes equitable growth. Modi emphasized that India’s youth, talent pool, and policy clarity position the nation to lead in shaping the global AI landscape.

The Prime Minister underscored the need to democratise AI, making it accessible to all sections of society rather than a privileged few. He highlighted AI’s potential in healthcare, agriculture, education, and governance, while cautioning against misuse through deepfakes and fabricated content. Modi called for global standards to tackle these challenges, suggesting authenticity labels for digital content similar to food safety certifications.

He also stressed India’s commitment to international cooperation, noting that AI governance cannot be confined within national borders. Modi urged collaboration among nations to build ethical frameworks, infrastructure, and safeguards that ensure AI benefits humanity at large.

The summit featured participation from global leaders including Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, as well as industry figures like Mukesh Ambani, Sam Altman, and Sundar Pichai. Modi hosted a roundtable with tech CEOs and dignitaries, reinforcing India’s theme for the summit: “Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay” – AI for the welfare and happiness of all.
