Robbers Escape with Rs. 6 Lakh at ATM after firing in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Jan 31: Panic broke out at Koti Bank Street after a shooting incident near the SBI headquarters on Saturday morning. Armed assailants opened fire and fled with ₹6 lakh.

Around 7 a.m., a man named Rishad arrived to deposit money at an ATM. The robbers chased him and fired shots, injuring his leg. They snatched the cash and escaped. Rishad was rushed to Osmania Hospital for treatment.

Police from Sultan Bazaar are examining CCTV footage from the scene. According to officials, two men arrived on a bike, carried out the shooting, and stole the money. The victim, Rishad, has been identified as a textile trader from Nampally.

DCP Shilpavalli stated that clues teams have already collected preliminary evidence. “We received information that the incident occurred between 6:30 and 7 a.m. We were alerted immediately after the gunfire. Five teams are searching for the suspects. It is unfortunate that such an incident happened in a busy area. The culprits will not escape,” she said.
