Sangareddy Shock: Class 4 Student Injured in Power Bank Blast

SANGAREDDY: Panic gripped a government school in Telangana’s Sangareddy district after a power bank unexpectedly exploded in the pocket of a Class 4 student. The incident took place at the Government Primary School in Kottur (D) village, located in the Kohir Mandal.

The young student, identified as Rakesh, reportedly discovered an abandoned power bank on the school playground while playing. Intrigued by the object, he placed it inside his trouser pocket and continued playing with his classmates. Moments later, the device suddenly exploded with a loud bang, immediately igniting his clothing.

School staff and local residents rushed to the child’s aid upon hearing the blast. Rakesh sustained severe burn injuries to his right leg and abdomen.

He was immediately transported to the Sangareddy District Government Hospital for emergency first aid. Due to the extent of the burns, medical officials referred him to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for advanced treatment, where he is currently recovering.

Local authorities and school administrators have urged parents and students to exercise extreme caution regarding discarded electronic gadgets and battery devices found in public spaces.
