Several vehicles parked outside the function halls located on the Gudimalkapur road were also targeted by the mobs.
The police sensing the situation going out of hand, resorted to a lathi charge to disperse crowds. The police reinforcements were rushed to the spot to prevent trouble from spreading further. Senior officials rushed to the spot and beefed up security in the area.
Following the skirmish, traffic flow on the busy Mehdipatnam to Attapur road was affected for some time. The traffic flow was restored by the police.
