Sundar Pichai: Google Seeks to Partner in India’s AI Journey

California/New Delhi, Feb 18: Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai stated that Google wants to be a partner in India’s AI journey. Speaking virtually from California to national media about the AI Summit, he said he believes India will advance further in the coming years through the use of AI, and emphasized Google’s clear intention to collaborate with the country.

He explained that to make this transformation possible, Google will focus on building infrastructure, ensuring stable investments, setting up data centers, conducting research with local partners, and creating better employment opportunities for talented youth both in India and abroad.

Pichai mentioned that Google is working with Reliance Jio to establish a cloud region in India, and as part of this, projects are being set up in Rajasthan to generate 150 megawatts of renewable energy. He also noted partnerships with Adani and CleanMax to expand Google’s data center presence in India. Beyond infrastructure, Google is developing AI-based products tailored for Indian users.

Sundar Pichai has arrived in India to participate in the international AI summit being held in New Delhi. He expressed happiness on social media about returning to India for the summit. On Friday, he will attend and deliver a speech at the event.
