
Hyderabad: In a proud moment for the institution, Dr. Devesh Nigam, the Registrar, University of Hyderabad (UoH), was conferred with the prestigious “Educational Excellence Pioneer Award-2026”. The honour was bestowed upon him at the high-profile Hyderabad Education Conclave 2026, which took place on June 20, 2026.
The conclave, themed “Uniting School & Higher Education Leaders,” was organized by Plus Nineone Media and brought together top educational policymakers, Vice-Chancellors, principals, administrative and academic leaders from across the country to discuss the future of the Indian education ecosystem.
The award recognizes Dr. Devesh Nigam’s exceptional contributions, leadership, and pioneering administrative reforms in higher education management. As the Registrar of one of India’s premier central institutions and a recognized Institution of Eminence (IoE), Dr. Nigam has played a pivotal role in driving excellence across administrative frameworks, bolstering student-centric governance, and high-impact academic collaborations.
The plaque was presented by the leadership team of Plus Nineone Media, including Founder & CEO Sandeep Gulati and Co-Founder Ashutosh Dubey.
Hosted at The Park, Somajiguda, the conclave featured extensive deliberations on transforming traditional educational boundaries. The day-long event commenced with an inaugural lamp-lighting session featuring prominent figures like Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar (Chief Coordinating Officer, AICTE, Ministry of Education) and Prof. (Dr.) V. Balakista Reddy (Chairman, Telangana Council for Higher Education).
Key discussion tracks during the conclave addressed highly contemporary themes:
• AI & Education: Redefining the role of schools and higher education institutions in the age of intelligent systems.
• Bridging Ecosystems: Fostering collaboration between the school and higher education sectors to smooth student transitions.
• Degrees to Outcomes: Moving toward an employability and skills-driven economy under the National Education Policy guidelines.
• Policy Perspectives: Special addresses by senior administration officials, including Smt. A. Sridevasena, IAS, Commissioner of Collegiate and Technical Education, Government of Telangana.
The ceremony concluded with the Recognition for Education Leaders segment, where Dr. Nigam was celebrated among the elite trailblazers shaping the modern landscape of higher education.
