Telugu should be alive for generations with thriving glory: AP CM Chandrababu

AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that the Telugu language should be alive for generations and its glory should thrive. In this digital era, the chief minister said our children should learn to read Telugu and write its alphabets. “Telugu should be alive for generations, not only in speech but also in writing. Telugu glory should thrive,” Naidu said in a post on ‘X’, commemorating Telugu language day.

“Our Telugu language, praised by Sri Krishnadevaraya as ‘Desha Bhasalandu Telugu Lessa’ (Telugu is the sweetest among all regional languages), must remain alive across generations—not just in spoken words, but in its written script as well. May the glory of Telugu continue to flourish.

Even in today’s digital era, our children need to develop the habit of reading and writing Telugu script. Only by instilling an interest in letters and a love for the language from childhood will our Telugu script shine bright in future generations. As part of this effort, creating the ‘Coolphabets’ app—which teaches children to read and write Indian languages alongside Telugu through play and songs—is highly commendable. My congratulations to Kollu Ranjit, Venkat Eleti, and their entire team. Releasing this app on the occasion of Telugu Language Day is a delightful moment.

It is gratifying to see this app designed using AI technology to evaluate children’s handwriting and offer necessary guidance. Technology should not distance us from our language; it should bring us closer. Our language and our script are the identity of our culture and the mark of our Telugu people. I wish for our sweet Telugu language to shine forever in the generations to come.”
