New Delhi, 22 Jan: Delhi Traffic Police announced on Wednesday that traffic restrictions will be in effect in parts of New Delhi on January 22 due to rehearsal practices for the Beating Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk.
According to an advisory, the stretch between Vijay Chowk and Rafi Marg, towards the Kartavya Path crossing, will remain closed to general traffic between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm.
Commuters have been advised to plan their travel in advance and avoid the Vijay Chowk area during the restricted hours. The traffic police warned of heavy congestion in and around Vijay Chowk due to the evening rehearsals. Motorists are advised to take alternative routes via Ring Road, Ridge Road, Minto Road, and Aurobindo Marg.
The advisory also stated that vehicular movement will be restricted on Raisina Road, from the roundabout near Krishi Bhawan towards Vijay Chowk. Traffic will not be allowed beyond the roundabouts at Dara Shikoh Road, Krishna Menon Marg, and Sunehri Masjid in the direction of Vijay Chowk during the rehearsal hours.
