Dr. Peruka Raju Receives Telangana Nandi Award–2026

Hyderabad: Renowned national poet, author, and multilingual scholar Dr. Peruka Raju has been honored with the prestigious Telangana Nandi Award–2026 in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of literary translation.

The award was presented today at a grand ceremony organized by the Bharatiya Kalakarula Aikya Vedika at the Telangana Saraswata Kala Parishat in Hyderabad.
Dr. Peruka Raju received this prestigious recognition for his remarkable contribution to literature through his translations and original writings in Telugu and several other Indian languages, reflecting social awareness and cultural values. His efforts in bridging Indian languages and promoting the nation’s rich literary heritage have earned widespread appreciation.

A proud son of Telangana, Dr. Peruka Raju is currently serving as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army under the Ministry of Defence. Alongside his military service, he has continued his literary journey with dedication, earning recognition at the national level.

Beyond literature, he is actively engaged in social service. He founded the voluntary organization MyGift with the mission of uplifting underprivileged communities across India. Guided by his philosophy, “Encouragement is the greatest gift,” his humanitarian initiatives have inspired many.

Having already received numerous national and state-level honors, Dr. Peruka Raju’s selection for the Telangana Nandi Award–2026 has been warmly welcomed by writers, artists, admirers, and distinguished personalities from various fields.

The award ceremony was attended by noted actor Babu Mohan, Vice-Chancellor Malla Reddy, film director Dr. Ranjith, actress Roja, actor Hariharan, the President of the Film Chamber, along with several film personalities, literary figures, artists, and youth. During the event, the poster of the film Aitheera was officially unveiled, while vibrant cultural dance performances added grandeur to the celebration.
